May has been beautiful in Bloomington and we couldn't have asked for more as we spend our last few weeks together as only a couple! We are in the final stretch, so I don't know when you will hear from us next! We do know that we are at sooner than later! We are just hoping for a healthy and "nice" delivery! Once baby has arrived, we will post pictures as soon as possible (which I don't promise to be quickly)! Ultimately we just want a healthy baby, but if Poppy arrives before June I won't be sad (I say this while I have some feet stuck in my ribs)!

Today, May 17th, we celebrate our 4th anniversary.
This picture reminds me of why this was the BEST day of my entire life!

Dan has expanded his gardening thanks to finding his grandpa's gardening book!
 I look forward to his hard work!
Henry is soaking in the last of his freedom, and we enjoyed a great weekend with my dad Bloomington style!

Need I say anything about this? I'm a very pregnant lady here!
May 16th was our sigh of relief into full-term, which means 3 weeks until the due date!

Dan ran in the Indy Mini-Marathon and did SO GREAT!
Dan's parents met up to support him too and we were able to enjoy some good time with them too!
Dan ran his first mini-marathon (13.1 miles) in 1 hour and 55 minutes!
 I was so proud I cried, mind you I am 9 months pregnant too.

Poppy Update


Exciting news today! We got to see baby Poppy!

Here are the stats:
Estimated weight: 5 pounds 8 ounces (yikes! BIG BABY)
Estimated arrival, by size guesstimate, June 2nd
Heart rate was 148
Position: Head down & back-up (yipppee)

Both momma and baby are healthy! The UltraSound shots below are pictures of pictures, so sorry for the low quality! But you can still see the cuteness!
I am still 100% convinced we will be welcoming the first boy into the Meyer family (I've also been the different one right?), but I have no confirmation of that!

April Update

Well April has been well so far! We had another shower and we've had lots of visitors to enjoy as well! The nursery is so close to being done, and we have another ultrasound coming up so be sure to touch base in a week or so to see how big baby Poppy is! I started a swim class, which is just awesome! I'm almost done with my second Clemson class, only 10 more to go until I graduate!?! Let's hope this next course is easy with Poppy's arrival! Dan is preparing for the min-marathon in Indy May 5th! And Henry, well, he got in a fight with a squirrel (and won) but hasn't changed much!

Exciting news though is that baby Thompson was born on April 3rd! Emily (Emmy) Jo was a healthy 8 pounds with a much nicer delivery for the hardworking momma this round! Eveyone is doing well, busy, but well! We send as much love as we can to Arizona and can't wait to meet little Emmy Jo!

Poppy and I enjoyed another wonderful shower in Bloomington! It was like a social craft hour with so many wonderful friends! I had a blast and I am so thankful for once again the wonderful generosity and love of the people in our lives!

March Madness

Well Spring and Summer are here, and so is the third trimester! Which means Poppy is closer to sooner than later, which is a lot to take in! We are actually 10 weeks away from the due date! Dan is working on the nursery, we just finished our Bradley Birthing Class (what a GREAT experience for the two of us) and we learned why they call baby showers showers! We have so many wonderful, loving, and generous people in our lives to love and support us in this next stage of life and we couldn't be more thankful! We also had a chance to take one last little vacation without our little addition to Sevierville, TN for a nice long weekend in a beautiful cabin in the woods! I should mention too that we are proud of our Hoosiers and their great season!
In this last stretch we hope to do the following:
1. Make and freeze some meals
2. Finish the nursery
3. SLEEP
4. Prepare for baby mentally, physically, and emotionally!!!
5. Hear and see the next baby Thompson, due April 11th! We hope for a smooth, quick, and healthy delivery for Jamie and their sweet little girl!
6. Any other suggestions!?

Here are the lovely ladies that created and provided the BEST baby shower ever! Leader of the pack was Judy and she did SO much to make the shower a wonderful, fun, exciting, and overwhelmingly awesome event!

Just SOME of the great people I got to see and celebrate with . . . I realized I did not get as many pictures as people there! I especially appreciated the long distance travellers and baby Annalyn and her momma coming up for their first road trip!

February 2012

So February was a lot more fun this year than usual! There isn't too much to say, but a lot to see! We were able to spend a lot of time with family & friends as you will see (and won't see because we haven't been as good at taking pictures every where we go). Not only did we get to see some far away family, but a new member (sudo-cousin) was welcomed into the world on February 18t, Annalyn Cynthia Eddie! I couldn't be more proud of my BFF Ashley and we are so excited for her and Mike as they start their life as a family . . . and we realized we are soon to follow! She is beautiful and absoutley perfect!

I'm wrapping up my first class, already I know. It has been a whirl-wind and isn't slowing down! We've started looking for daycare already for Poppy, and my stomach seems to keep growing! Poppy is definitely kicking now too! Dan was able to get his first feel at the Down the Line Concert (Sunny Taylor got baby moving)! We have a music lover! It is so much fun being able to feel and see this little, big, thing moving around inside. It sure does help with the reality check!

Chocolate & Coffee

If you knew my mom you miss her every day like I do. February 19th is her birthday, and every year I like to make sure to take a moment and do what she did best to try and help the sadness: Eat chocolate, drink coffee, and be with the ones she loves. Each year I look through pictures to see how she has shown up, and the winner this year was my first ever successful coffee cake (I think because I was at home preparing it with both my sisters, thanks Skype).

Additionally, I started my graduate classes at Clemson University in January.Dan and I drove down to South Carolina for my orientation. Along the way we got to visit with some great friends (Wes & Gillian, and Melody and her boys). We learned that Southern hospitality is very nice! I am officially a Tiger, I bleed orange now. Even though my program is online, my professors reminded me it is still an accredited Master's program...I have learned that thus far! How it works: I am in a cohort of 30 students, and we all go through the two-year program together. We take one accelerated course at a time, lasting 7 weeks, two per semester until December 2013 when we graduate! We meet every Tuesday night online, in this crazy chat place, from 7:00-8:30. I do A LOT of reading, posting, and reading.

Balancing school and work is tough, and is only going to get a bit harder! But you all know I've got an amazing partner to help with everything! Dan has been supportive, caring, and motivational to help ensure that I stay on track! I can't tell you how lucky I am!

Dan is ready and excited about Poppy. He is working in the nursery right now actually! Work is going well, and he is working hard as always. He is preparing for his first mini-marathon in Indy on May 5th. So he has been outside running in this cold weather, he thinks it's enjoyable at least.

Do I look any different? Woah! Baby is obviously growing. Poppy (baby Nieder-Meyer's nick-name) is about 1 pound now and approximately 12 inches. However I think the baby is at least 2 feet long! Last check-up everything was looking good, heart rate was 147, and I'm still feeling wonderful. Even better, now that I get to feel kicks and punches!

We got to see Poppy today! Let me say, it was awesome! We saw the heart, spine, bones, and face! The baby was fist pumping, waving, bouncing, twirling, all over the place!

Heart rate was 148, approximately 9 ounces, very long, and everything else looks normal, healthy, and good to the doctor!
